How to get to Kyrgyzstan
By air
Recommended airlines:
Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Chinese Airlines, Aeroflot, Tadjik
airlines, Uzbek Airlines, ITEK Air, Altyn Air.
Manas International airport is located 30 km from Bishkek (formerly Frunze:
the airport’s code is “FRU”). Airport pickup costs:
20 EUR.
Other airport: Almaty, Kazakhstan (formerly Alma-Ata), 250 km from Bishkek.
From Bishkek to the base camp in
Barskoon village is 350 km. A 5-6 hour trip by car.

Kyrgyzstan has made significant progress in simplifying tourist access.
For most citizens of the European Community, Switzerland, USA, Canada
and Japan it is necessary to obtain a visa. Visas can be obtained from
Kyrgyz embassies before traveling or from the airport upon arrival. Please,
check with your airline before traveling, as some airlines may not allow
you to fly without a valid visa.
